Concert MPA Info & Reminders

Basic Information

MPA is open to the public! Parents, you are more than welcome to support us by watching the performance and following the band to the sight-reading room!

We Need Chaperones! If you can chaperone, please let Mr. Bowman know by signing-up in Charms here. Chaperones need to have completed the background check in the ACHS front office if they have not done so this school year. It takes about 5 minutes and must be done during school hours. Since our bus is only one-way, chaperones can meet the band at BRHS at 4:00pm and must remain until 6:30pm.

Students, Don’t forget your concert attire! Students must report to the band room promptly afterschool and change into concert attire before we leave at 3:15pm!

Ladies - Assigned concert dress, Black shoes

Gentlemen - Black dress shirt, Black tie, Black belt, Black pants, Black socks, Black DRESS shoes

Students will need to bring food or money ($) for concessions as we will have a SHORT dinner break at BRHS before our warm-up time.

If you want to watch ACHS or any other bands perform!

There is no bus returning to ACHS after the event! Students will need to be picked up at BRHS at 6:30 when the event is over!

Student drivers or anyone not taking the bus MUST submit both the student travel waiver form AND permission form by Friday, 3/8/19. These students must join the band at BRHS on MPA day no later than 4:30pm having already eaten and changed.

Students will need to bring their own instruments to BRHS, take them home that night, and bring them to school by their next band class.  Please reach out if you have conflicts or storage issues so we can accommodate.

Percussion Students - These are the instruments being provided by BRHS.  All other items you must bring and return. You are responsible for them not being lost or stolen!  Concert Bass Drum, 4 Timpani, Xylo, Vibes, Marimba, Chimes, Gong

Permission Form/Travel Waiver Form - All students must turn in Permission forms.  Student Drivers or Parents taking their kids to MPA must also submit the Travel Waiver form.  Both are due Friday, 3/8/2019.

From I-95 exit onto Glades Rd heading east. Make a right onto NW 15th Ave (immediately after you pass our stadium). Make your first right into the school parking lot. You may park anywhere (the entrance to the theatre is directly next to the parking lot). We will have adults helping with parking to guide you.

***School ends at 3:20 pm, so school traffic is a little crazy between 3:10-3:35. Please avoid that window for your own sanity.***


2:45 pm - Students report promptly to ACHS band room, change and get ready to load bus
3:15 pm - Buses depart for Boca Raton HS
3:45 pm - Arrival at BRHS unload, bathrooms, dinner at concessions (BRING $$). Students can watch a performance if there is time.
4:30 pm - Unpack and go to warm-up area.
5:00 pm - Warm-up
5:30 pm - Performance
6:00 pm - Sight-reading
6:30 pm - Dismissal. Students to be picked up at Boca Raton High School. NO RETURN BUS.  Parents must be on time. We cannot leave students unattended at BRHS!
