Band ‘Freshman Night’ Meeting

In the ACHS auditorium

Thursday, 5/17 at 7:00 PM

(Auditorium entrance is on the west side of the school)

Topics and activities will include

  • How band makes the high school experience better for both student and parent!
  • How band integrates with our magnet programs to help students meet graduation requirements!
  • Students engage in team building and make friends!
  • Meeting future friends and colleagues!

Popular reasons students/parents consider music activities

  • Music activities leave a positive impression with colleges
  • Students earn required community service and arts credits toward diplomas
  • Character/leadership development prepares students for a future of excellence
  • Social/behavioral growth and maturity
  • Parents are included in their children’s activities
  • Students gain friends also in IB, AP, AICE, etc., before school even starts.  It’s a great support structure!
  • Band embodies an active and dedicated culture.
  • Our program includes Marching/Concert Band, Jazz Band, Color/Winter Guard, Percussion Ensemble, as well as beginners.  There is something for everyone!

For all students who we know are interested, we will be forwarding you materials for percussion, wind, & guard auditions and other info in the coming weeks.  Please be aware of dates for tryouts!  Even if you are a complete beginner THAT’S OK.  We don’t turn students away, but we need tryouts to get to know you and to plan for next year with you in mind!

FLYERS ARE ATTACHED!

Responding is not a commitment to any of our activities!  Formal commitments to band happen at our June camps.  We are only seeking the privilege to further inform you about our ACHS music program.  Please don’t hesitate to respond and let us know you want to know more about joining our fantastic music program at ACHS!
