Band Camp and Friends & Family Update!

 

Dear Band Parents and Students,

BAND CAMP UPDATE:

We will be having two more days of band camp next week with Mr. Sanz. Please plan to attend:

Monday, 5 PM to 8:30 PM

Tuesday 5 PM to 8:30 PM

 

As a tradition, each year at the end of band camp we host Friends and Family Night. This year it falls on Tuesday, August 6 at 7 pm.  Together --families, friends, alumni and band members will celebrate the beginning of a new season with our new band director, Mr. Keith Sanz.   Please bring chairs or blankets to sit on in case we are on the field. It would great if anyone can can lend a hand in setting up and clean up.

Mr. Sanz has asked that all the students bring items in for the celebration.

***Please, as always, food MUST be already prepared store bought, to follow Palm Beach County Schools guidelines and rules.***

Assignments for each section are as follows with some suggestions as to appropriate items; however you are free to bring whatever you think our guests would enjoy while keeping in mind the ***Health Department guidelines re: store bought foods only***

  • Woodwinds (Flute/Clarinet/Tenor and Alto Saxes) = 10  Students
    • Dinner Entrees
    • Roasted or Fried chickens, chicken wings
    • Deli Sandwich platters
  • Low Brass (Trombone/Tuba/Baritone Sax/Sousaphone) = 6 students
    • Drinks AND Coolers 
    • Gatorades, Iced Tea, Lemonade Gallons
    • x2 cases/gallons each
    • Bags of ice
  • High Brass ( Trumpet, Mellophone) = 5 students
    • Side Dishes
    • Prepared Deli Salads - Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, etc.(PLEASE keep it chilled in a small cooler or lunchbox
    • Baked Beans
    • Bags of Chips - preferably individually portioned
  • Upper Battery  = 5 students
    • Dinner Plates
    • Plastic cups
    • Napkins
    • Each person please bring 50 of each - any extra will be used for band as needed
  • Bass Drums =  4 students
    • Bottled Waters
    • x2 cases each
  • Front Ensemble = 5 students
    • Veggies and Fruits
    • Prepared Veggie Trays with dips
    • Prepared Fruit Trays
    • Whole Fruits (Watermelons, Oranges -- pre sliced and covered)

 

  • Color Guard = 17  students
    • Desserts
    • Prepared cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc.
  • We will need help setting up and breaking down tables and canopies at 5:30 pm
  • All food and refreshments are asked to be provided, on-site, by 6:30 pm
  • We are in need of canopies for sun and/or rain protection.
  • We have 3 tables, paper towels and trash bags, along with some serving utensils and equipment provided.  If you have any to bring, please do.
  • Please bring a folding chair or two, as needed for your friends and family, as they will not be provided.
